CFY started poorly against a very strong Pompey lads league division A side. Good work down Ranville's left saw a clinical finish put the hosts 1-0 up within a minute of the start.
CFY struggled to cope with the fast, flowing football from Ranville and indeed were 2-0 down before they could even manage a chance themselves.
They did have two just before the first period of 20 minutes ended, with Ashton extremely unlucky to watch his stunning free kick come back off the cross bar.
For the second period Parsonage replaced Chinn on the right wing but everyone else stayed the same, Ranville continued to dominate and despite some good goalkeeping by Bagot they scored another two goals to close the second period at 4-0.
CFY replaced Evens with Chinn and made some positional changes for the final third period. Chinn went up front with Montigue, Pickett moved to left wing and Harrigan to centre midfield to help Ashton who was battling well and showing his class in midfield.
Good moves involving Montigue and Ashton saw Chinn come close twice, but Ranville ran away with the game scoring three more times to secure a 7-0 victory.
Despite some good performances from Bagot in the first two periods and a lively shift from Chinn in the final period. Ashton won man of the match for the second game running with his never say die attitude and continual hard work for the cause.
Most other players must look at their performances before Saturday's game against Itchen.
Man of the match – Tom Ashton.
