Bishops WD 'B' 0-23 Chandlers Ford

BISHOPS WD ‘B’ 0-23 CHANDLERS FORD

18.12.04 – LEAGUE

For Chandlers Ford, Christmas came early in this very one-sided encounter against a very weak Bishops Waltham side. It took the visitors five minutes to get the ball in the back of the net as Matt Lucas opened the scoring, which turned out to be the first of many. CFY were literally in or around the home sides goal area for the whole half as they completely dominated the possession and controlled the game.

Chandlers Ford piled on attack after attack, as the goals kept flying in one after the other and the game was pretty much wrapped up by the break as CFY had a very comfortable 10 goal lead at the end of the first half.

HALF TIME – Bishops WD 0-10 CFY

Chandlers Ford came out in the second half looking just as sharp if not better. Every player did their bit as the away side continued to trouble the Bishops Waltham defence on a number of occasions.

Once again, as in the first half CFY dominated the game and some great football was displayed. But lets not forget Bishops Waltham’s determination for not giving up despite the number of goals that they conceded.

Some very strong performances were seen all across the park. Reece and Ronan worked very hard up front as they not only scored a handful but created goals as well. Robbie Hurst made some great runs from the right back position and kept the defence in order before replacing Lee in goal (and even then he made a brilliant little run down the line!!). The midfield were superb for CFY with Michael Wall putting in some nice crosses into the box, Joe getting a number of goals to his name and winning a few tackles. As well as Sabri and Matt working hard for the team as ever and getting on the score sheet.

Unfortunately the defence did not have a lot to do because of the one-way traffic but everyone played their part in this very entertaining football match and Chandlers Ford’s biggest win of the season.

SCORERS:
Ronan Galloway 7, Jozef Montigue 7, Reece Middleton 4, Sabri Elmasri 4, Matt Lucas 1.

Chandlers Ford 4-1 Fleet Town Colts

CHANDLERS FORD 4-1 FLEET TOWN COLTS

11.12.04 – HAMPSHIRE CUP ¼ FINAL

Chandlers Ford started this quarter final tie the stronger side however it was the visitors who had a golden opportunity minutes into the match to open the scoring. Fleet counter attacked and ran up the pitch as the CFY defenders stood off and watched the cross come in before the Fleet centre forward missed an open goal from no more than 6 yards out.

The home side began to find their feet a little and the midfield started to control the game a little better. They soon found themselves one up as Ronan Galloway made a great run as he sprinted past a number of defenders before firing the ball home.

Another good move from the Chandlers Ford players saw Ronan Galloway double the lead with a cross/shot which flew into the back of the net. However Fleet played their way back into the game and for a period of time dominating the game and putting pressure on the CFY back line. This pressure turned into a goal as Chandlers Ford conceded a corner, a very well taken set piece saw the ball fly in from the right hand side before being flicked on neatly and headed home by a Fleet player to round off a great team move.

HALF TIME – CFY 2-1 Fleet Town Colts

CFY started the second half quite brightly but took a while to break Fleet's defence down again as they managed to keep the ball in their opponents half. The two goal advantage for Chandlers Ford was restored when Ronan Galloway made a great run down the left before whipping in a delightful left foot cross, which was met superbly by the head of Matt Lucas who directed the ball right into the bottom corner of the net and out of the reach of the Fleet keeper. 3-1 Chandlers Ford.

Fleet again came back at the home side with a spell of possession. They were unlucky not to have pulled a goal back as a blistering strike rattled Lee Robertson’s cross bar before being cleared to safety. They seemed to be on the attack and pushing at CFY’s defence for a good spell of five minutes, but the home side came out on top and managed to see off the heavy pressure.

Chandlers Ford’s fourth and Ronan Galloway’s hat trick sealed the cup tie as good play from Reece Middleton set up the prolific Galloway to strike the ball home from way outside the box into an empty net.

David Phillips was CFY's man of the match for marshalling the defence and the team through to the Hants Cup Semi-Final.

Chandlers Ford 8-0 Whiteley

CHANDLERS FORD 8-0 WHITELEY

04.12.04 – LEAGUE

For the second time this season Chandlers Ford came up against a strong Whiteley side, the only difference this time was CFY had a full squad compared to the ten players that were available for the opening league fixture of the season.

It took the home side a long time to find their feet in this clash coming up against some tough defenders. Whiteley proved to be hard to break down as they shook off any attack thrown at them from Chandlers Ford.

About half way through the first half Chandlers Ford finally managed to beat the offside trap and the Whiteley defence as Ronan Galloway rounded off a well-created goal to open the scoring. This seemed to inspire the side and gave them the confidence to go on and create more chances.

Birthday boy Matt Lucas scored two brilliantly taken goals to increase the lead for the home side going into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

HALF TIME – CFY 3-0 Whiteley

With all of CFY's squad available for only the second time this season all four subs were used just after half-time with CFY switching to three at the back and pushing forward more.

Chandlers Ford played even better football in the second half and they dominated the possession.

Captain Sabri Elmasri scored a very early goal nicking the ball from in front of the keeper before rounding a defender and coolly finishing into an empty net. This goal set the tone for the rest of the game as Whiteley had to deal with one-way traffic form then on.

Dale Hansford, Reece Middleton and Ronan Galloway's second of the game added to the goal tally, before Matt Lucas completed his hat trick by reacting quickest to a fumble from Jozef Montigue’s shot which the keeper parried into his path.

John Ruis, David Phillips and Phillip Blackwell kept the defence in order with some great tackles to help towards the clean sheet. Lee Robertson had a brilliant game between the sticks and he made four great stops to see off some late pressure from the visitors. All in all a great team performance and everyone played their part as Chandlers Ford ran out 8-0 winners.

Chandlers Ford 0-11 College Youth

CHANDLERS FORD 0-11 COLLEGE YOUTH

27.11.04 – LEAGUE CUP

This League Cup 1st round tie was between the top of the A Division and the top of the B Division and was always going to be a very tough game for Chandlers Ford. College’s record speaks for itself having won all of the 7 games in the League, scoring 70 odd and they’ve only conceded 7 goals.

However it was the home side that dominated the possession for the first five minutes keeping the ball in the College half. Ronan Galloway weaved his way past their full back before putting in a great cross right across the face of goal which was nearly met by the head of Michael Wall.

College seemed to buck up their ideas and turned the defence into attack very quickly. They rattled the Chandlers Ford cross bar and post several times and it wasn’t long before they opened the scoring.

The CFY players dropped their heads and it cost them dear as the very able College side piled on the pressure and scored another five goals in a somewhat one-sided first half.

HALF TIME – CFY 0-6 College Youth

It was much of the same in the second half as College Youth had so much possession as they were allowed to run at the Chandlers Ford defence freely at times.

Chandlers Ford went on to concede another five very well taken goals to a strong side that looked like scoring each time they went up the field. But well done to the boys for sticking at it and playing right to the end.

Hopefully this defeat will be an eye-opener to the boys and they should be wanting to put this right with a win at home against Whiteley next week.

Locksheath 1-4 Chandlers Ford

LOCKSHEATH 1-4 CHANDLERS FORD

20.11.04 – LEAGUE

This top of the table clash was played between two well-matched sides, in wet and windy conditions at Brookfield School. Chandlers Ford took an early lead after a good run down the left saw Ronan Galloway take a few players on and put in a great cross to pick out Matt Lucas who reacted quickest in front of goal and neatly tucked the ball past the keeper and into the net from close range.

Chandlers Ford continued to dominate possession and any chances Locksheath had the CFY defence soaked up and got in some great tackles. A good passing movement from the Chandlers Ford midfield picked out Reece Middleton on the edge of the area who coolly stroke the ball home with a powerful effort that doubled the visitors lead to make it 2-0.

HALF TIME – Locksheath 0-2 CFY

Locksheath came into the second half fired up and determined to get something out of the game. They stepped up a gear or two from the second half and immediately pulled one back with a scrappy goal catching the CFY defence napping.

Despite taking this early blow, the Chandlers Ford players responded brilliantly with a good attitude. The goal seemed to fire the players back into action and they started battling more and creating chances for the front men. It wasn’t much longer before they scored a third when Ronan Galloway scored a fantastic solo effort with a neat side foot finish, which flew past the Locksheath keeper into the corner of the net.

In the dieing minutes substitute Ryan Chinn pounced on a Locksheath mistake in the box and notched up his first league goal of the season with a good finish to make sure of the three points for CFY.

Liphook 3-4 Chandlers Ford

LIPHOOK 3-4 CHANDLERS FORD

13.11.04 – HAMPSHIRE CUP ROUND 3

In previous games, Chandlers Ford have been slow to get going and have let in early goals. Not this time. CFY started very brightly and were on top of their opponents straightaway. The midfield created some great chances and the defence dealt with everything thrown at them from the Liphook side.

A great pass from Reece Middleton put Ronan Galloway in on goal, who comfortably slotted the ball past the keeper to put Chandlers Ford one up in this Hampshire Cup match.

More pressure from the visitors resulted in a penalty for Chandlers Ford. Michael Wall stepped up for the kick but saw his penalty brilliantly saved by the keeper. Michael, despite the miss, was named man of the match later for his overall performance including some great runs down the wing and some nice passes.

CFY were soon 2-0 ahead when Reece Middleton powered his way through the Liphook defence before firing the ball home.

HALF TIME – Liphook 0-2 CFY

Chandlers Ford started the second half the way they left off by dominating the possession and creating more chances. Galloway scored two great individual efforts to grab another hat trick and this put CFY 4-0 in front.

At this point it seemed the game was already won and beyond Liphook’s reach. But this was not so. The Chandlers Ford players began to tire and switched off as Liphook began an amazing fight back.

Liphook capitalised and became the stronger side, piling on the pressure for a very nervous finish to the game. They scored three goals in quick succession and were still pushing for an equaliser way into injury time.

However Chandlers Ford held on for a 4-3 victory in this exciting cup-tie. This was probably a fair result in the end for their first half performance.

Clanfield 3-9 Chandlers Ford

CLANFIELD 3-9 CHANDLERS FORD
6.11.04 - LEAGUE

Clanfield started the game the better side and were rewarded a goal from a well-taken free kick early on. Chandlers Ford Youth were finding it hard to push through Clanfield's strong midfield, however as the half went on Chandlers Ford Youth became the stronger and managed to get back in the game with two quick goals from Ronan Galloway to take the lead.
David Phillips came up for a corner and knocked in a corner off his knee, but they all count, and this importantly increased Chandlers Ford Youth’s lead to 3-1 just before half time.

HALF TIME – Clanfield 1-3 Chandlers Ford

In the second half Chandlers Ford's picked up the pace and began to increase rapidly in confidence. Their strength in midfield and quick passing helped create a flurry of chances. Sabri Elmasri popped up with two good goals, which increased the lead to 5-1.

However Clanfield were determined to keep fighting, and a good cross was turned in nicely from a free kick to pull it back to 5-2.

This only spurred Chandlers Ford on to score more goals. They were rewarded with a penalty after Ronan Galloway was chopped down in the box, but Jozef Montigue stepped up shot straight at the keeper. He then made up for his penalty mistake by a great run from the halfway line before poking a cool finish past the Clanfield keeper.

Galloway completed his hat trick with another trademark goal late on to make the score 8-2, before Reece Middleton scored his first goal in the league since coming back from injury.

Clanfield didn’t give up and managed to score a very late goal from a quick break up the pitch managing to catch the Chandlers Ford defence out.

With minutes to go Galloway completed the rout with his fourth and Chandlers Ford’s ninth to seal a good victory for CFY.

Chandlers Ford 3-3 Portchester B

CHANDLERS FORD YOUTH 3-3 PORTCHESTER ‘B’
30.10.04 - LEAGUE

Despite CFY having all fifteen members of their squad available for the first time this season, they struggled to get going against a quick and determined Portchester side.

Portchester scored early on as their heavy pressure paid off. They took the lead from a quick break away with Connor Blyth providing the finishing touch. However Chandlers Ford didn’t let this get to them, and they continued to battle on and create chances. Eventually they stepped up a gear and started to dominate the possession. Chandlers Ford’s hard work was rewarded when free scoring Ronan Galloway pulled two vital goals back to take the lead and also had a third disallowed.

HALF TIME - CFY 2-1 Portchester

CFY started the stronger of the two sides in the second half and were soon 3-1 in front as Jozef Montigue reacted quickest in the box following a good cross from Dale Hansford.

Despite CFY's continued pressure they didn’t take their chances, which eventually cost them dear. Portchester came back into the game late on when their strikers pounced on sloppy defending to claim a draw that really should have been a win for Chandlers Ford.
Reece Middleton had the chance to clinch a win for Chandlers Ford but his blistering free kick was well saved by the Portchester keeper.

Pirelli 1-7 Chandlers Ford

PIRELLI 1-7 CHANDLERS FORD
9.9.04 - FRIENDLY

CFY playing in their last pre-season friendly appeared to have saved their best performance till last. Playing with a back three and a deep sweeping midfield player, CFY looked stronger defensively.

Lee Robertson looked assured in goal and was commanding the defence well. The midfield were creating a lot of chances for the front men, and soon enough Chandlers Ford had taken the lead and opened the scoring through Ryan Chinn.

Trialist Liam Godfrey scored the second goal from the edge of the area and Ronan Galloway scored twice before half time to give Chandlers Ford a comfortable lead going into the second half.

HALF TIME – Pirelli 0-4 CFY

Pirelli got one back with a good strike, but it was no where near enough for them to get back into the game as CFY continued to dominate the match.

Sabri Elmasri made it 5 with a fine individual effort, and a further goal a piece from forwards Ryan Chinn and Ronan Galloway made it 7-1 at full time for a well-deserved victory.

Man of the match David Bromhead was outstanding at centre half.

Stubbington 6-6 Chandlers Ford

STUBBINGTON 6-6 CHANDLERS FORD
4.9.04 – FRIENDLY

In this goal packed game, tactics almost seemed to go out of the window as both teams frequently beat the offside trap and tried to out score each other.

An even first half saw the score at the interval three goals a piece, with Ronan Galloway helping himself to all three. Each time Stubbington lead and CFY equalised, and so it followed in the second half.

HALF TIME: Stubbington 3-3 CFY

Man of the match Ronan Galloway notched up another two goals to bring his tally to five goals for the match, an incredible performance. As the scores levelled at 5-5, there was ten minutes to go and the match got quite tense.

Ryan Chinn put Chandlers Ford ahead for the first time in the match with a lovely finish as he broke free from the Stubbington defenders and let fire. However just as CFY had thought they won Stubbington went down the other end of the park and equalised.

Ranville 1-7 Chandlers Ford

RANVILLE RANGERS 1-7 CHANDLERS FORD
31.7.04 – FRIENDLY

For CFY’s second eleven a side friendly, a lot of injury problems were resolved which saw Reece Middleton play a full game back from his ankle problem, Matt Lucas available for selection again and new signing Dale Hansford played his first game for the Club.

These players made a big difference to the team as they strengthened the side and helped CFY roared to an emphatic 4-0 half time lead, after a great hat trick from Ronan Galloway and a fourth from Sabri Elmasri.

HALF TIME – Ranville Rangers 0-4 CFY

Ranville hit Chandlers Ford early on in the second half to pull one back. But from then on it was one-way traffic, just like the first half. Galloway scored his fourth, along with goals from Matt Lucas and Reece Middleton who had moved up front from centre back.

Jozef Montigue was man of the match for his display at right back, marshalling the defence.

Waltham Wolves 8-5 Chandlers Ford

WALTHAM WOLVES 8-5 CHANDLERS FORD
19.6.04 – FRIENDLY

In Chandlers Ford’s first ever eleven a side match, it truly was a game of two halves. CFY really struggled with the offside at both of ends of the pitch and some of the players were not holding to their positions. Waltham Wolves used this to their advantage and raced to a 6-1 lead scoreline at the interval. A goal from Ronan Galloway had been the only reply to the Wolves onslaught.

HALF TIME – Waltham Wolves 6-1 CFY

However some reshuffling of the eleven available players at half time saw CFY command possession, as they appeared to be playing more confidently. Chandlers Ford became the stronger side; in a complete reverse to the first half. A further goal from Ronan Galloway and a superb hat trick from man of the match Sabri Elmasri helped their side win the second half 4-2.

Unfortunately, however their first half performance let them down as they lost 8-5 overall. But they are still learning and finding their feet in eleven a side football. And they showed just how good they can be when they are switched on by their brave second half show.
